The Raven of Ruwi and Other Stories from Oman by Omani writer Hamoud Saud is a collection of interconnected short stories portraying Muscat and Oman through memory, modernisation, identity and everyday life.
The stories combine realism with elements of the fantastical, including a blind man who learns Muscat's history from a donkey and a forgotten postmaster who receives letters from Dostoevsky and Kafka. Translated from Arabic by Zia Ahmed, with a foreword by Jokha Alharthi.
