How we set book prices in the UK & EU — آلية تحديد الأسعار في بريطانيا وأوروبا
We publish the methodology below to keep pricing transparent for our customers in the UK and Europe.
نعرض المنهجية التالية لضمان الشفافية في تسعير الكتب لعملائنا في المملكة المتحدة وأوروبا.
1) RRP as the Primary Anchor / سعر الغلاف المرجعي (RRP)
For most titles, we start from the publisher’s Recommended Retail Price (RRP) printed on the book (or provided by the publisher/distributor) as the main reference.
في معظم العناوين، نبدأ من سعر الغلاف الموصى به من الناشر (RRP) المطبوع على الكتاب أو المرسل من الناشر/الموزع، باعتباره السعر المرجعي الأساسي.
2) Price Build-Up / مكوّنات السعر
Final shelf price may differ from RRP due to logistics, taxes, currency, and market conditions. We consider:
- Inbound logistics: international shipping, domestic courier, warehousing & packaging.
- Currency conversion: publisher currency → GBP/EUR at prevailing FX rates + small rounding.
- Taxes & duties: VAT rules and import duties where applicable.
- Availability & rarity: out-of-print/limited editions may carry a premium.
- Promotions: launch offers, seasonal discounts, price-match events.
قد يختلف السعر النهائي عن RRP بسبب الشحن والضرائب والعملات وظروف السوق. نأخذ في الحسبان:
- اللوجستيات الواردة: الشحن الدولي، التوصيل الداخلي، التخزين والتغليف.
- تحويل العملات: عملة الناشر ← الجنيه الإسترليني/اليورو وفق سعر الصرف السائد مع تقريب بسيط.

- التوافر والندرة: العناوين النادرة/المنتهية الطبعات قد تُسعّر أعلى.
- العروض: خصومات الإطلاق، المواسم، أو ملاءمة الأسعار.

3) VAT & Tax Treatment / المعالجة الضريبية
Printed books in the UK are generally zero-rated for VAT; other products (e.g., stationery, gifts) may carry VAT. EU VAT rules vary by country. Prices on our website display local tax treatment at checkout where applicable.
الكتب المطبوعة في المملكة المتحدة عادةً معفاة من ضريبة القيمة المضافة، بينما قد تُطبق الضريبة على منتجات أخرى (قرطاسية، هدايا). تختلف قواعد الضريبة داخل الاتحاد الأوروبي حسب الدولة. تُعرض المعالجة الضريبية المحلية عند إتمام الطلب عندما ينطبق ذلك.
4) Currency & Rounding / العملة والتقريب
Our base currency is GBP (£). For EU prices, we convert using current FX rates and round to customer-friendly endings (e.g., .99). Minor periodic adjustments may occur when exchange rates fluctuate.
العملة الأساسية لدينا هي الجنيه الإسترليني (£). ولأسعار الاتحاد الأوروبي، نقوم بالتحويل وفق سعر الصرف الحالي مع تقريب بسيط (مثل .99). قد تجري تعديلات طفيفة دوريًا تبعًا لتغيرات أسعار الصرف.
5) Shipping & Weight Impact / أثر الشحن والوزن
Delivery fees at checkout reflect destination, weight/size, carrier, and service speed (e.g., Royal Mail, Evri, UPS, DHL). For some heavy/oversized books, a portion of shipping is included in the shelf price to maintain competitive final costs.
تعكس رسوم التوصيل عند الدفع الوجهة والوزن/الحجم وشركة الشحن وسرعة الخدمة (مثل Royal Mail وEvri وUPS وDHL). لبعض الكتب الثقيلة/كبيرة الحجم قد نضمّن جزءًا من تكلفة الشحن داخل السعر على الرف للحفاظ على تنافسية السعر النهائي.
6) Special Cases / حالات خاصة
- Pre-orders: We list the expected price; if the publisher changes RRP or FX shifts materially, we may adjust before dispatch and notify you.
- Out-of-print & rare: Market scarcity can drive prices above RRP due to sourcing costs.
- Damaged/Outlet: Clearly marked with condition notes and appropriately discounted.
- الطلب المسبق: نعرض السعر المتوقع؛ وإذا غيّر الناشر RRP أو حدث تغيّر كبير في سعر الصرف، قد نعدّل السعر قبل الشحن مع إخطاركم.
- المنتهية طبعاتها/النوادر: الندرة قد ترفع السعر فوق RRP بسبب تكاليف التوريد.
- نسخ بها تلف بسيط: تُوضع ملاحظة الحالة بوضوح مع تخفيض مناسب.
7) Promotions & Price-Match / العروض وملاءمة الأسعار
From time to time we run promotions (launch, seasonal, student). Where possible, we align with reputable UK pricing for identical ISBNs; contact us for considerate price-match on like-for-like items.
نقدم أحيانًا عروضًا (إطلاق، موسمية، طلاب). قدر الإمكان نوافق أسعار السوق البريطاني للعناوين ذات ISBN المطابق؛ تواصلوا معنا لطلب ملاءمة سعر لعناصر متطابقة.
8) Misprints & Corrections / الأخطاء المطبعية والتصحيحات
If a price is listed in error, we will correct it and contact you. You may cancel before dispatch if the correction is not acceptable.
إذا تم إدراج سعر بالخطأ، سنقوم بتصحيحه والتواصل معكم. يمكنكم إلغاء الطلب قبل الشحن إذا لم يكن السعر المعدّل مقبولًا.
